Push 'touch' instrument

This is one of those annoying threads where a user gets a goofy idea which they'd love to see created, but don't have an ounce of the ability to make it come to fruition and therefore simply express their wish for someone to possibly make it exist haha

I mentioned it in another thread.

I'd love to see an application of the knobs' 'touch' function used as a sort of strumming method. Essentially, there would be a method for forcing them to hold chords and you could either slide your finger across them or tap them individually.

These are a rough idea of the concepts id love to see applied to this:
-sustain pedal to hold and let go of sustain of the notes, or possibly a button or pad
-either Pressure of a pad or variable humanized velocity. Perhaps even a special velocity mode based on duration of the 'tap' (longer tap may make higher or lower velocity, and super quick flick might do the opposite, I imagine this could be taken care of with a special Amp envelope)
-knobs can be used to tweak the timbre or other quality of individual strings.
-a method for quick and easy chord shapes via the pads. Not sure how exactly, but the pads would be their own chord shape/note recall matrix so that in the simplest possible manner one could have the knobs switched to different chords.

This is about as far as I've thought it through at this point, but I do believe it would be a very interesting way to utilize Push in an unexpected but versatile fashion!

Once when I set up PXT Live Plus wrong (something with the virtual Midi ports) I was able to see this in action for a bit, as touching the knobs all the sudden triggered my drum pads. It was admittedly kinda cool, it had a nice feel to it.

That wouldn't work though. How can you use the touch of the encoders and simultaneuosly use them to adjust a parameter. The whole time when you are trying to turn it you would be triggering the instrument!

Otherwise neat idea. M4L should be able to do something like this no?! Or would you need something like Bomes MT to free the Midi from Push grasp?!

Yeah. Was aware of that also. I think that in some cases it might be alright to twist and tap it to get different kinds of sounds kind of on-the-fly and recklessly. The way one would tune a guitar before their next song. Or if it was sort of like a drone mode, some fun could be had but once again it sort of retrigger a when you tap it.

And yeah, I forgot all about the drumming aspect! I guess the most simple application would be to filter the knob touches to send more suitable note values. A GM drum and an 'Impulse (C major)' mode. And then the knobs used to adjust note sustain.

I think I could do this with only MIDI devices within a rack.

Edit: or the knob could control arpeggiator rate hahaha
