Anyone using a Push *and* a Launchpad?

I'd really like to be able to use my Push to remain in scale mode and control all my VSTs melodically, and use a Launchpad (or something like it, I have borrowed a Launchpad at the moment) to trigger clips.

Have any of you peoples done this before? It seems like switching VSTs on the Push would mess with the Launchpad, or vice-versa, but I'm hoping there's a way to specifically assign each to a particular behavior. Like to assign the 8 columns on the Launchpad to control clips in tracks 9-16, and switch tracks from 1-8 (full of VSTs) on the Push.

I assume that this must be possible, since people use multiple Launchpads, but I can't seem to find any documentation or videos about how to do so.

Any help people could provide would be awesome, this would put my little trio way out over the top.

Make sure Select on Launch in prefernces is set to :Off

Otherwise when launching clips on the launchpad Push will also change track focus.

Also do not try to stop clips on launchpad that Push has focus of as this will not stop the clip but start recording instead! Better of using the Stop function on Push for that track.
Other than that both can control their own sections of grid and jumping in and out of sequencing is all good fun!

This can definitely be done and I would suggest to look into ClyphX, because with this you can assign buttons on the Lauchpad to move and lock its grid to specific parts of your set.

Also there are third party scripts, that give you much of the functionality of Abletons Push script (Launchpad95) or of Strays PXT script (NativeControls Lauchpad script).
I think they can work independently of whatever you are doing on Push, basically giving you a second Push matrix for step-sequencing, triggering clips, clip chopping or scale mode.

Maybe someone, who is already using this set-up can chim in if that's indeed so (that they are independently usable)

Yep, will all work fine.

I use this setup. I initially thought I would get rid of my LP along with my MPD but I found it was actually a lot easier (for me anyway) to keep Push open on a note or PXT page while triggering other clips. As irrelevance suggested be sure to set "select clip on launch" to off to stop your tracks being selected. You can then play and tweak a selected instrument on Push while triggering other clips from the LP.

If you also wanted you can open Clip mode on Push and set the push and the LP to different ranges in your set to play over 16 tracks or 2 pages of clips at a time.

As I understand it, it mirrors much of the same functionality of PXT Live. I would like to know if I could for instance let PXT Live control a DrumRack clip via the poly-sub mode of the step sequencer in one resolution (for example 1/8) and let the Lauchpad control the same clip in another (like 1/8T). Or taken further, can PXT control one part of the clip and the equivalent Lauchpad script another. (Giving you 16 steps total resolution).?!

Don't have pxt live for the launchpad. Just stock ableton integration.

I have a few question regarding using this LPC 2 script while simultaniously using the PXT Live Plus script on Push.

1.) is it possible or do the scripts interfere with each other somehow
2.) LPC 2 has a mode that mirrors PXT Lives poly-sub mode of the step sequencer. Can I use PXT Live on Push to control the same clip on a DrumRack as I do simultaniously with the Lauchpad using it's step-sequencer poly submode?! If yes:
2.1) Can I control the same clip, but with a 1/8 resolution in PXT Live and a 1/8t resolution on the Lauchpad
2.2.) Can PXT Live control the first part of a clip, while LPC controls the second - giving in effect a 16 step resolution of that clip spanning over the two devices
2.3) Can I control the first 8 Pads of a DrumRack in the poly-submode of PXT Live and the other 8 pads with LPC in its poly step sequencer. Giving me control over all 16 sounds in the step sequencer
