Unknown audio drops. PLEASE HELP!

Post by TmanRocksTheBoat » Sun May 11, 2014 5:27 pm

Hey Everyone,

For several months now, I have been noticing, both when producing in Ableton AND general computer use (internet, Movies, etc.), that the audio will drop out for a split second. It hasn't affected my music production, but with a new podcast, I have seen some issues. While recording one of the episodes, I heard the sound drop for an instant, but thought nothing of it. When I went back for a listen, all three mic inputs were cut out from the recorded audio. It has now moved from a tolerable annoyance to something I'd like to get to the bottom of.

Perhaps someone has experienced this? Is this an issue with Ableton? Audio interface? PC? Even a point in the right direction would be of great assistance. Thanks! :)

Windows 7 Home 64-bit
Intel i7 3.07GHz
16GB DDR3 RAM
Ableton Live 9 Suite
Akai EIE Pro audio interface
2x AKG mics
1x Blue mic

I get this on my work computer. On my home computer, it's an issue with my wireless drivers being enabled. At work, there are a number of issues, but you could try disabling bluetooth if you have it enabled. Disabling wireless obviously isn't a solution for you since it happens when streaming movies and music. And, since it's happening outside of Ableton, it's not an Ableton issue. I'd google the issue with your particular soundcard/PC/soundcard drivers. I'm sure others have had the issue and hopefully found a solution.
