Clip length in session view

Post by lonestar » Sat Jun 07, 2014 9:46 am

During session recording, if I start recording into a clip by clicking on the round circle on a clip, the length of the clip is determined by when I stop recording (and the quantisation setting).

However, I want ableton to preset clip length to 4 bars and start looping the clip once it reaches 4 bars. This way, I can overdub into the clip. How can I achieve this please?

I don't want to double click on the clip and the set the loop length. That's more cumbersome...

Have you tried Ableton's Looper?

If not you'd be able to achieve what you are looking for with either Max4Live or probably with Clyphx
