We play on a festival in Switzerland, and now we are discussing different issues using wifi connections for our DAWs and Controllers.
- does anybody have any experiences with midi sync over wifi at festivals? (i never had problems in clubs though)
- does anybody have any experiences in using the iPad (Lemur) as a controller, connected via wifi at festivals?
I'd be glad to hear what you experienced so far with this.

Re: Experiences with wifi connections at festivals
Disclaimer: I am only a lowly IT grunt and not a festival performer.
In all cases if you can use a wire over wireless then by all means use a wire. Much less chance of things going wrong.
I worked as a tech for a few festivals. They tend to be a whole lot of chaos behind the scenes. Why introduce more chances to create chaos for your self. Do you really want to troubleshoot a wireless issue mid set?
It might work for you. But if it doesn't due to some other random wifi network set to the same channel as yours, was it worth it not to hook up a switch and a few ethernet cables?
