This idea is a bit out there but I think It is should be do-able.
I DJ with alot of tracks that don't have a constant tempo. What I would like to be able to do is make Live's tempo follow the tempo of a clip.
Once you have Warp mapped a tracks tempo you should be able to tell ableton to follow that tracks tempo changes. This would then allow you to mix other clips with this track at its original tempo including tempo changes. Would be great for all the old funk and jazz recordings out there and would also make it more usable for the live musician to use Ableton as a backing track cause alot of rock tracks have tempo changes throughout the song.
This would make live much more expressive and really let your mixes move.
Make session follow a clip tempo.
Re: Make session follow a clip tempo.
I second that emotion...it'd be awesome to be able to use Re-Pitch mode in songs that don't have a metronome-perfect tempo. I DJ a lot of disco and have to use complex mode for just about all of that stuff.
Re: Make session follow a clip tempo.
you can do this now with the master/slave button in the clip view - unfortunately it only works in the arrangement view, but it is there
