Running Ableton off an external ssd via thundebolt

Just wondering if anybody here runs Ableton off an external ssd via thunderbolt?

I am looking at buying an external ssd for my media projects but im not sure if Ableton would be better suited for the internal ssd of the external ssd which will be connected via thunderbolt.

Coincidentally, I spent part of my day looking at external Thunderbolt drives with the idea of moving K9U off the boot drive of my iMac. I'm interested in any feedback you get for your question. Might have some applicability to my plan.

Caution: I tried using an exernal Tunderbolt LACIE SSD for a while to store various libraries and OSX was loosing the connection to the SSD drive frequently so I went back to a more traditional external thunderbolt HDD.

Have decided I will be upgrading my laptop at the end of this month, gonna upgrade to the 1tb hard drive so wont be having any storage issues.

Will still be good to find the answer to this though if anyone else wants to know.
