multiple midi controllers working with the same button

hey all.

im using ableton in a live looping situation

i currently have a setup with 6 different 'looper' devices and have assigned buttons on my midi controllers to record/play and reset/clear the loops for each channel.

its good to do it one by one for each channel, but could i also have a different midi controller button that clears all of the loops for all of the channels without wiping out my existing mapping to the individual channel clear mappings?


essentially multiple different midi buttons controlling the 1 parameter?

Try it - Live lets you assign some controls redundantly, it's just a matter of whether it's functional for you. Some assignments, though, are exclusive and Live will ask you if you want to replace the previous mapping. Failing that you can always hack something out with M4L.
