A better integration for Hardware

Post by resyonator » Fri Sep 05, 2014 8:20 am

Hello

There are tools like the "8_ccs MaxForLive" to integrate our hardware synths in Ableton. But they are insufficient. We still have to read our manuals and look for the right numbers of CC. This is an old method that is no longer appropriate today. We lose precious time in the workflow. That would be simpler to provide a tool with a "Learn" mode so that it instantly affects the number of "CC" for each potentiometers we need.
There is another limitation with the current tools. The connection is not bi-directional between the device and the hardware synths. So we are forced to use the "macro mappings" and a controller as "Push" for the update of "virtual" dials. It's a great controller, but what is the interest to use the "Push" to record automation of hardware synths as they have their own knobs ... The MIDI controller can be used to collect more "CC" of synths at the same time using the MIDI assignments of Aleton.
Often a picture speaks better than words. Here is a photo montage of a tool that could greatly improve the integration of our hardware with Ableton. If I could do it with MaxForLive, it would be done long ago. But with a native Ableton tool, they would be sure of its reliability.

Am I alone in thinking that we must improve the integration of external synths with Ableton ? Nobody uses hardware ?
