hacking APC solo buttons, need proper LED response.

Post by sburke1 » Sun Nov 16, 2014 10:22 pm

Hello, when hard mapping my APC's solo buttons I "break" the LED feedback to the APC. I want the 8 solo buttons to act as a group, so only 1 solo button is illuminated at a time. ( I am using the move clip grid device and I want to visually always know where the clip grid is)

I understand the APC is running on a remote script and hard mapping breaks that. When I disable midi mapping in ableton's prefs for the APC ports, and pip MIDI through MAX on MAX port 1 or 2, the script does not get broken which is a problem because I do want to abandon the solo function completely.

Any threads or tutorials on this?
Do i hack the script as well as midi in MAX?

Any help with where to start would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

You need to disable the functionality through the components in the remote surface...

Probably best to have a look at doe of the devices out there that do this, there isn't really any tutorials that i've found to do it...
