An album made exclusively out of NYC noise

Post by wbatts20 » Thu Nov 20, 2014 12:27 am

Hey everyone,

Just wanted to share an experimental project that my friends and I have been working on for a couple months now.

We've been super inspired by a lot of incredible material (specifically HECQ and Eskamon) that focus on exploring the separation of noise and music. We picked our 10 favorite spots from around NYC, and recored a bunch of samples using a ZoomH6. Using only our recorded sounds as the source, we used Live 9 and Push to arrange a composition that we felt reflected our experience, and the atmosphere where the recordings were made.

Please check it out if you're interested.
The whole album is free to download:

Thanks for listening!

I necrobumped this because I was looking for discussions of HecQ's ALP "The Forge"...

Thanks for sharing your work - great stuff! Polished and super-intelligent.

It's an older post, so it's no surprise that their's a deadlink, so I turned to good ol' youtube for "line-in-between" and found this:

I had a feeling that wasn't your album.

This one looks more like it:

God bless the internet :)
