need help with tail end of loop.
ok i just got reason 3.0 and im runing it into ableton4.0. well im recording the audio onto a empty track and at the end of the sequence the strings and effects i have running in reason have a long decay. next is a breakdown. but my problem is that when i switch to the breakdown in ableton i cant get the strings to fade out, instead it just cuts them off. and i dont want to record the string part plus the breakdown. say i have a nine measure string loop, is it possible to record it as 10 measures and then make the loop start over when it gets to measure 9 so the tail end of the loop will play over the 1st measure.. sorry i cant put this clearer. but if anyone can help it would be awesome. cheerio
I do not know about the playback features of Live 5 yet, but you could use Simpler for that task. Just drag your recorded 10 bar string sequence into simpler. Adjust ADSR so that with a simple MIDI note-hit it plays your whole sample. Then build your 9 bar MIDI-loop and in the beginning place a MIDI-note triggering the loop in simpler. It should then always start the string sequence every 9 bars but also keeping the decay of the last played sequence....
Hope that helps.
Hope that helps.
Hi faf,
Another way to avoid losing the tails of your string loop is to render the audio from reason and then drag the clip into a slot in live. In Reason sequencer, select the ten or whatever measures you want, mute all the other mixer channels so you only hear the strings and any associated effects, then render the audio. When you drag this audio into live you can play it as a clip and mute the strings in reason so you can hear your break. Is that what you're after?
