Hello,
Does anybody have an Idea how to work out, that these 8 rotary knobs of the komplete kontrol Keyboard could be mapped to the 8 macros of Push.
I know i can do that manually, but it's very complicated then just to map it again, when you go to the next vst in komplete kontrol.
Is there a way with remote scripts or somehow else?
Best Regards
Samuel
Komplete Kontrol Software with Ableton Push
Re: Komplete Kontrol Software with Ableton Push
Hi Samuel
Yes you can achieve that "Instant Mapping" with MIDI Remote Scripts. With this approach you basically tell Live which CC values it uses for mapping (e.g.) the first 8 exposed values on the selected "blue hand" device. This is described step by step here: http://www.native-instruments.com/forum ... bs.230631/
In the Native Instruments Controller Editor you define the CC values that your Komplete Kontrol sends. Of course, you can just use the defaults (that are displayed on the KK) and use these for your new UserConfiguration.txt file. By the way, the path to the scripts in Live 9 (Windows) is something like "C:\ProgramData\Ableton\your-version-of-live\Resources\MIDI Remote Scripts". In "MIDI Remote Scripts\_Tools" you find the file "InstantMappings-HowTo.txt" with further instructions and info.
The second way are python remote scripts. Unfortunately I could not find a suitable one which does only/exactly that. I successfully tried the very nice "Selected Track Control for Ableton Live" (http://stc.wiffbi.com/), but it does too many other things (for me) and I did not quickly find out how to use only the device control mapping part.
However, in my case both ways did not work so I came up with the following easy workaround (hijacked an existing Python Remote Script):
- select "MidAir25" as Control Surface in Preferences > MIDI Sync, select "Komplete Kontrol - 1" as Input and Output (or whatever the device is called in your case, just not "DAW - 1" and not "EXT - 1")
- below, for the MIDI Ports "MidAir25" Input & Output, make sure "Track" and "Remote" are "on"
- open the Native Instruments Controller Editor, set the following 8 CC numbers (from left to right knob): 71, 74, 84, 2, 91, 93, 5, 10
Thats it
Maybe you should try the "supposed way" first before using this workaround. It works fine so far, but I have only tested it quickly. If I encounter any side effects I will update this post.
Best regards
Andre

Re: Komplete Kontrol Software with Ableton Push
So are you discussing how to get the 8 knobs of the Push controller to behave the same way as the 8 knobs of the Komplete Kontrol keyboard "without" having the keyboard and just Push and Komplete Ultimate with the Komplete Kontrol plugin?
If so I'd be interesting in how to do this as well. I think what described above is how to get the Komplete Kontrol keyboard to behave like an APC or push in regards to automatically controlling devices in Ableton not using Push to control the Komplete Kontrol software. I hate the name after typing it that much lol.

Re: Komplete Kontrol Software with Ableton Push
Exactly, I just wanted to use the Komplete Kontrol keyboard knobs to automatically control e.g. the first 8 params of a vst or a macro.
Using Push to control Komplete Kontrol the same way as the KK keyboard with mappings NI has done (inside the Software) is afaik not possible at the moment, but maybe on its way: http://www.native-instruments.com/forum ... sh.228279/
If you dont know it yet, check out Audiomodder: http://audiomodder.myshopify.com/produc ... vst-bridge which is great if you have Komplete and Push.

Did you find a solution for this? Trying to do the same thing
