Hi all.
I've seen a couple of references to MAX/MSP audio to MIDI converters using sigmund~, but all the Windows related links are either dead, or the sigmund mxe file crashes MAX on startup.
Is there a way of getting MIDI from audio in realish time through MAX/MSP with the standard tools in M4L?
Has anyone here experience compiling the PD code for sigmund~ which has MSP specific code in it?
Particularly, given that the PD GIT repository code for this particular module seems to have last been touched in 2010, does anyone here know if it would run under the current M4L version as is?
Likewise, any advice were I to build it, about how to ensure it was compatible with current standards, how to get it into a patch, what to do with it etc etc etc.
I am a beginner with MAX so I have a lot to learn in this regard, but would love to be able to generate monophonic MIDI from my guitar as I play. (Yeah, I know, get a GI-20 or whatever, but this is for the educational experience, and I'm feeling encouraged by the the real time MIDI controlled pitch shifting capabilities of a patch I found on the web recently, which uses the standard functionality available with MAX).
Cheers
Mike

Re: Audio to MIDI - WIndows
I got answers to all these questions this evening so I'm looking into this further when I get some time after Xmas.
