I can't get the camera to respond with M4L Theremin

I got a new laptop, an HP, and I'm trying to get the Video Theremin included in the M4L building tools to work. But the Camera isn't turning on when I click 'start camera'. Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you.

try to locate the camera vendor, driver name, driver version from the device manager in windows. list all versions of live, max, max 4 live installed on your computer. do you have max 7 in demo mode? does your camera work in some other app like Skype?
