In Ableton live 9, I have a midi track that sends midi messages to my external blofeld synth.
The Live track has an Instrument Rack device that houses an External Instrument device mapped to the Blofeld. I mapped Macro knobs 1 and 2 in the Instrument Rack to Cutoff and Resonance on the Blofeld. When I move the knobs on screen, with my mouse, the Blofeld reacts in real time and the knob values are sent smoothly via MIDI.
When I use the Ableton Push knobs to control Macro 1 and Macro 2, the Blofeld does not react in real time. The cutoff and resonance values make huge jumps. If I turn the knobs slowly, the jumps are smaller. I did a test and this same problem occurs with ALL of my hardware synths. Anyone have any idea what's going on? Is anyone successfully doing what I am trying?

What is the CPU load when this happens? Unfortunately I feel the communication with Live gets borked once you make heavier demands on the machine. That play back gets prioritized is of course the right choice.
