Applause sensor???

Post by Giacomo17 » Wed Jan 07, 2015 11:19 pm

Hey folks. totally not an ableton question. :) just sound tech related, so I thought I'd run it by you all. had an idea that won't leave my brain: I want to setup a little sensor of some kind by my front door. I wanted it to trigger the sound of applause whenever someone walked in the front door, like we lived in a sitcom. :) any ideas?

I was thinking: some cheap little, single note MIDI trigger device that can hook up to some cheap, portable sampler.

I'd look into Arduino and use some kind of light sensor perhaps

Yup, arduino and an IR sensor would do it. I haven't used one for a few years but that's what I'd do. Then into max msp or max for live....
