No sound with Asio4all

Post by toonableton » Thu Mar 12, 2015 6:06 pm

Hello,

I ran into a problem as i was trying my korg micro key on ableton. It has a bit of latency. I read that if you'd switch your driver in ableton to Asio4all this would be solved, so i did. This solved the problem but got me a new problem. If I switch this driver to Asio my computer won't play any audio outside of ableton. Does anyone knows how to solve this?
Thanks,

Toon

Yes, get an interface with true ASIO drivers that is multi client capable.
RME, Focusrite are examples I know of.

ASIO4ALL is an emulation running on top of your Windows drivers, and in order to be faster than those it needs exlusive access to the audio device.

There's a workaround , if you want to keep Live open while listening to some other application you can temporarily deactivate Live's audio engine by clicking on the CPU meter once.
