I don't know whether Ableton or Akai bear responsibility for this, but you can't use the APC Mini in combination mode with APC40 or APC20.
I don't understand why the APC MINI (and the APC Key 25, with which it shares remote script implementation) don't get the love & support that the more expensive devices do.
