MPD18 slider volume for each channel.

So I'm trying to control the volume of each active track using the single fader on the MPD18. I've read many places to set the CC to 7 but that doesn't seem to be working. If I set it to 1 then it controls the master volume regardless of which channel is active. Anyone know of a way to solve this problem? Thanks
