Can I route MIDI on same track to record arpeggiator notes?

Post by stalker_on » Fri May 15, 2015 7:45 am

Hello,

I am searching for a way to record midi from the arpeggiator in ableton live9, but withouth routing midi from one track and recording it on a second separate track

What I want is a way to record midi notes from midi devices such as chord/arpeggiator but somehow route it on the same track. I need to do this because I want to build a setup where I use mackie control devices and those devices detect my tracks automatically, so having more tracks because of the midi routing would block/fill up my track channels on the hardware device in a bad way :(

Any solutions to this, a max for live plugin or something?

Help/suggestions would be appreciated

Thanks

you could try this
set up one track to house all your arps.

basically create a midi effects rack.
put different arps and midi effects in each chain
then set up each chain so that they are on different zones
then you will be able to use the chain selector to select which arp you want to use

next create a midi track per chain
then use the midi from in the input/output options on the midi tracks
to select the track with the arps
and then in the second drop down select the specific chain
so that midi track will only respond to the arp on a specific chain

this is of course assuming that you only need to interact with on arp at a time.
