Can I send both note mes&cc mes with different patches?

Hello

I have an M-Audio Axiom 61 2nd Gen with 20 mem patches and a lot of midi functionality...
but I don?t know how or if I can do this?

when pressing keys on keyboard
on patch 1 send normal note messages and play a virtual instrument
on patch 2 assign different buttons in ableton by midi mapping them to different keys on keyboard

I can only do either one or the other, it doesn't store this mapping in ableton according to different midi channels. I tried having one midi channel on one patch and another midi channel on a different patch but ableton doesn't see this when I midi map inside ableton live 9.

Any help on how I can do this or if it is possible at all?
