"In Key" and "Chromatic" modes/notes on a midi keyboard?

Hi there,

I wondered if Ableton has "In Key" or "Chromatic" modes which you can then apply to a midi keyboard which you have plugged in, meaning that you can never play a wrong note on the keyboard?

I know that Push for Ableton allows you to do this, but I would ideally like to be able to do this without having to buy something else...

I also have a friend who might give me his APC, could I do a similar thing to those Push functions using that instead?

Yep, just drop the scale setting from the Midi effects to the channel you are on.
