Why do only 8 control pads work on my Push?

Why do only 8 control pads work on my Push?

I mean they probably do work, I'm just not sure whats going on. The 3rd column of pads from the left are the only ones that make any sound. When I push them other pads do lights up, but no sound gets triggered from the others. Kind of frustrating, I have shit to get done. Any ideas?

What mode are you in (notes, melodic step, drum, 64 pad, Session, User), and what instrument?
