compressor - gain reduction question

Post by SouthSideSamurai » Sun Oct 11, 2015 5:04 am

Is there any way to see how much gain reduction is going on instead of just a yellow bar?

Not really.

The compressor has a graph mode that has some divisions but I'm not even sure what steps in Db loss the grid lines represent.

If you put a meter like Sonalksis FreeG before and after the compressor you can compare. If you like that, put it in an Audio Effects Rack.
Make some music!

If the compressor is at the end of your signal chain then just compare the track peak db level meter reset when enabling and disabling the compressor

I did some tests and I deduced that the grid is divided by 5 decibels............:-)
