Record clips into arrangement by on-off state,not trigger

I have ONE cool scene, which I want to turn into a song in live.

I know I could add many scenes, an intro scene, a chorus scene a breakdown scene..

But this time i want to record into the arrangement the clips only when their track is on(sounding) so i would tuen tracks on and off and then make the arrangement that way...

Is there a way to do this, other than just record the on-off value of the tracks and then erased the muted parts on arrangement ?
