NI Service Centre Updates

Post by Myattmode » Thu Oct 29, 2015 12:35 pm

Hello,

I had an issue the other day with the Komplete Kontrol v1.5 update which I did resolve - see here: viewtopic.php?f=1&t=217967

Today (29th October) there were updates in Service Centre for both Massive and FM8. After updating these progs the 'massive.dll' and 'fm8.dll' files are completely missing from my laptop. I am currently in the process of trying to sort this out. The NI VST Tool is not helpful on this occassion.

Is anybody else suffering these same issues or is it just local to me. This is very frustrating and time consuming to sort out.

Cheers :(

Absynth 5 update has also done the same thing...

Alt + Rescan in Live Preferences?

Wait till it completes the Rescan fully.

Thanks Liam but the respective dll's are totally missing in the first place.

So far I have re-installed the respective NI VST and then done the updates through Service Centre and that has worked - the VST concerned has returned. Trawling through the NI website this appears to be a common solution.

Cheers :)

never press "Install" in service center, it moves .dlls into default directory set by Native Instruments.
Instead of that simply unzip downloaded installer and run it by yourself, then point it to your VSTi directory...
it happens to me everytime I forget about it :/

Thank you Totepady.

I've never had this issue in the past but from now on with any future updates I will go with your suggestion.

Cheers :D

My issue is different. All of my NI updates fail. (may have to try the zip idea) My only solution has been to use Windows Install Cleanup Utility. I find the app, uninstall then use Service Center to install then done. I found this solution a few years ago. Unfortunately this seems to happen on every machine I've owned. Even after a clean Windows install they may update 2-3 times with not problem then they fail. I don't move anything around to cause it either.
