Selecting/Reselecting Bars with Longer Sequences

Post by Teenage Engineering OP-2 » Tue Dec 15, 2015 11:19 am

Hi everyone,

When you wish to play/edit/go to a specific bar in your sequence, you simply tap that bar in the lower right quadrant of the grid when using a Drum Rack or the bar in the top row when using other instruments. Then when you wish to re-enable playback of your entire sequence, you hold the first bar in the sequence and then tap the last bar.

However, how do you do the same when your sequence exceeds the maximum sequence length displayable on the grid (16 bars for a Drum Rack, 8 bars for other instruments)?

Thank you.

Hello there

You press the Page buttons to scroll one page left or right, or you can use the vertical row of buttons (1/4, 1/8, 1/16 etc) to "zoom out".

I forgot to include a crucial detail. That's what I do when I have not isolated a bar for editing. When a bar beyond the displayable limit has been isolated, I cannot do the same.

Take this example. There is a sequence of 17 bars, so 1 bar beyond the 16 maximum displayable when using a Drum Rack. I decided to edit some bars within 1-16, by double tapping them, so the other bars aren't also playing as well. How do I reselect all 17 bars?

Or perhaps you simply cannot reselect the entire sequence if you have isolated any bars beyond the 16 or 8 limit in Drum Rack and other instruments, respectively?

Thanks.

Ah, I see what you mean.

The only way I know how to do this is to go to Clip mode and changing the Loop Length - to 17.0.0 in this case, making sure that the first bar at least is within the current selection before altering. Otherwise it'll lengthen the clip from the current position.

Ah, that's a pretty nice workaround. Thanks so much!
