Moog Mother 32 & Ableton midi

Post by ian412 » Fri Apr 01, 2016 12:39 pm

I'm trying to get this sorted out. It's a little weird. Im trying to transpose the sequence and change the pattern. I figured out how to transpose, you need to enter a midi note before the current sequence ends to transpose the sequence to a new note/key.

How can I send a midi command to change the pattern or bank that the Mother is playing? With a program change? What's the easiest way to do that.

Thanks!

Did you read the manual? I just looked at it online and read:
MIDI PROGRAM CHANGE MESSAGES
MIDI program changes 1 to 64 select the current sequencer pattern location.
You can create blank MIDI clips that contain nothing but program change messages, since there are only 64 locations you do not need to set bank or sub fields in the clip.

I did, but I was having trouble in Ableton with it. I got it figured out. Thanks!

One other question. How could I send a midi command to switch between playing a pattern and then playing a midi sequence in Ableton? If I have a pattern running, the midi notes that Ableton sends will transpose the pattern. What if wanted to switch to a pattern in Ableton (because the notes/rhythm can't be programmed in the Mother)? The only way I can get it to work is manually pressing the Run/Stop(Rec) button on the Mother.
