noob question with Ableton, Electronic Midi Keyboard,n APC40

Post by ecpeters » Sat Apr 02, 2016 5:15 am

I have a M-Audio keyboard connected and playing nicely in Ableton 8 Lite. I also have an Akai APC40 controller connected to my computer. When I hit buttons on the APC40 it makes noises like it's a keyboard, how do I stop this?

I'd like to hook up the instruments options of the keyboard to the APC40, so I can on-the-fly change the reverb, attack, etc...

Thank you,

When you have your APC 40 connected, open Preferences in Live, go to the midi tab, look at 'Control Surfaces' (top section with dropdown menus). Choose the APC 40, and choose the APC for your input and output.

In the bottom section, you do not need notes on at all for the APC.
