Lil' Problem moving punch In/Out loop brackets closer...

Hi, I just noticed I can't move the loop brackets closer than 1 bar apart from each other for punch in/out purposes. Is this a problem, or it's the way Live is supposed to work?

actually, neither "snap to grid" (ctrl + 4) nor "fixed grid" (ctrl + 5) fix the problem. It happens randomly at some point during recording a song. I often need the loop brackets to be really close to each other to punch in on small vocal syllables, but eventually i stop being able to do this. The minimum space between the 2 remains 1 bar, can't get any smaller. it doesn't happen in a blank new set, but will become that way at some point

i'm having this same issue now in 2022 with Ableton 10. i'm producing a podcast and have been able to punch single words until now. this project is suppose to be published tomorrow and i still have punches to do. were you able to solve this problem? could you please share the fix? thank you
