When adding an empty Simpler into a track, Push2 display says "Press browse to load a Sample".
Problem is, when you hit Browse the browser doesn't show the "Samples" directory you can see in Live navigator.
But ... my old Live 8 library directory appears in the browser ... and I can actually browse to the Samples directory of this library and load samples into Simpler.
So Push2 can browse into Live 8 directory and load samples, why can't he browse to Live 9 directory and load Samples ???

Re: Simpler inconsistency in browsing samples
my guess is that Live doesnt allow the viewing of the Categories>Samples directory on Push as that would mean ALL pack's samples listed there, and showing a huge list in Push could get real slow. that's just a guess though.
to load a specific sample at the moment, you must either know which pack it resides in and load via Browse>Packs view, or create your own Samples folder in the User Lib and copy files to that.
as for Live 8 samples shown... dunno, oversight?

Re: Simpler inconsistency in browsing samples
Well not realy :-/ Importing previous version packs and or sounds/samples/whatever has always been fine in Ableton Live.
My problem is not accessing Live 8 library samples for Simpler on Push 2: it works.
My question is why doesn't it work with Live 9 library samples, in the same context!
By the way, I can make my live 8 library folder point to Live 9 library folder in Live Preferences, so I have a workaround. But I still can't figure out why this "no access to samples" pseudo-limit exist at first.

Not a bad idea, but when I go through the "Live 8 library" folder on Push I can access to about the same amount of samples as in Live 9 library... Maybe you're right and the big difference is that they are organized in folders, while the "category / samples" navigator display is a flat list of all samples, which is more than 20000 samples on my Live 9 Suite. Could be impossible to use on Push.
Reminds me, I find the "samples" enormous flat list unuseable as is, at the very least we should be able to put tags on samples and search by tag. But that's another story.
