Hey, does anyone know how I can make bussing on audio tracks work while still being able to use multiband compression on the audio track?
Currently if I put an instance of OTT for example on the audio track buss, it continuously plays this layer of noise even when nothing is playing which isn't that desirable obviously, is there anything I can do to fix that or is there any alternative ways to multi buss?

Please explain better what you want. What does "continuously plays this layer of noise" mean in this case? Do you mean that it's operating without an incoming signal?Nauree wrote:Hey, does anyone know how I can make bussing on audio tracks work while still being able to use multiband compression on the audio track?

Anyway, unless you meant to overload everything may I suggest you learn the Multiband dynamics for those instances when you need it instead of just slamming it on like that.
As I see it the use of Multiband dynamics has about nothing to do with bussing per se and these two separate techniques can successfully be combined with each other.
However, if you slam on the OTT preset — Over The Top, get it? — then of course any noise will be brought up in volume. This is a natural bi-effect of any compression with compensating gain, alternatively expansion, and with noise present in signal. Noise levels can be countered with noise gating — typically combined — for example or best by cleaning up the signal if possible.
