Voice Control of Live?
Anyone know anything about using voice commands to control functions in Live? I've had an inquiry from a friend whose working with a vision-impaired musician. Any way to voice control of Mute/Solo/Delete etc etc? Is there any third-party software for assigning voice commands in OSX/Windows that I could pass on? Thanks for any advice.

Re: Voice Control of Live?
Maybe slightly dated, but I did a small thing with Windows speech recognition macros back in 2013:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hhGWmv8z8_M
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/downloa ... x?id=13045
You type a sentence, and the speech recognition listens for matches coming from the microphone. If I remember correctly, I just made it output individual letters, which I keymapped to the clips you see in the video.
I had to do some trial recordings, as it didn't pick up what I said every time. I'm not a native English speaker though, and it probably would have been more consistent with more calibration.
If you're having problems, I could look into making a vvvv patch (Windows).
I don't know Max unfortunately, but this looks pretty good: https://cycling74.com/toolbox/op-recognize/

I wonder if Siri in Sierra would help? There's also Keyboard Maestro for macro events which can use diction prompts. The demo is 30 days full function.
But the cusp is if the person in question has set up tab focus correctly and knows the keyboard strokes to move from one live object to the next. I'm just thinking of Device focus as an example. You could keyboard assign the bar of specific instances to move around a larger template. Or maybe look into DDC by nativekontrol such that any new instance is always mapped to familiar controls.
First half of this tutorial show you the Accessibility settings and the 2nd half shows you how to build or think about macros

Another idea is to use Push, perhaps with Voiceover enabled. If folks can work from there without looking at their computer, then it's a short stretch to imagine that a fluid Push player could play without looking at the Push!

i think funken posted a fair bit about that stuff for OS X. if you can wade through all the flame war battle posts you should be able to find some gems.
he was a fairly generous type when he wasn't trying to promote and force the virtues of Marxism down our throats while simultaneously attacking Capitalism at all costs, so you could probably PM him from the Bitwig portion of KVR...
...if that still exists... and he hasn't been banned.

that's where those links came from. I'd rather you go straight to the source rather than wade through all the topics he very graciously hijacked. Somehow promoting 3rd party apps and OS X tricks felt like forum marketing.
