the default folder is:

/Users/[username]/Library/Caches/Ableton/Cache

the problem is that your user Library folder is hidden by default, so you won't be able to browse directly there to select it.

one way to do this is:

- open a Finder window
- hold down the Option key on your keyboard
- select the Go menu in the Finder
- if you are holding down the Option key, then your user Library will be visible underneath "Home"
- select your Library
- click down into the Caches/Ableton folder (leave this Finder window here for now)
- back in the Live File/Folder preferences, click "Browse" to select the cache folder
- grab the "Cache" folder from the "Ableton" folder, and drag and drop it onto Live's "Select Cache Folder" window
- click "Open" and you are done...

You can double-check the exact location of all your caches and user library location in the preferences in Live too.
