will PUSH 1
Re: will PUSH 1
Push 1 and Live 9 came out at the same time.
Push 1 uses a lot of new features that were introduced in Live 9, including deep browsing capabilities through the controller and a lot of LED feedback and note input/layout functionality along with the ability to partially arm any selected channel so that you can use Push on that channel and the auto-select of drum rack devices in drum rack pads, and finally the session-record button which automatically gives you the ability to record any clip in any partially armed channel.
Also, things like New, double, record length.
A lot of new things were added to Live 9 since Live 8.
The Push 1 controller wouldn't work like a Push in Live 8. It would just be an 8x8 grid of unlit pads that send out chromatic midi notes and have no relation to the selected channel. The LCD display would not show anything pertaining to what you're controlling, and the encoders will send note messages when you touch them.
So if you want it to work like Push works in 9, it cannot do that in 8.
