About looper phrases and storing them

Post by mcmaklin1 » Fri Dec 02, 2016 9:37 pm

I think this question is basic but for me it it difficult. I have a very complicated setup for live performing - I use a looper and pedal that as basically in Logic one Bluetooth pedal tap starts looper, another tap starts next layer recording, 2 taping stops etc. It works fine but I want to have 3 preprogrammed loop first phrases per concert - so I can start them whenever I want. Looper does remember just one phrase (even when I save the song it does remember what was there - which I find good. I play those phrases not to a click and want to have a possibility of Pressing button A so looper starts with the first pre recorded phrase, button B from the second etc. Other words I would like to have a few memory storages of the looper. how can I achieve it please?

Not sure if I understood the whole of the issue, but it seems that if you want to just play back pre-recorded audio in loops audio clips would serve you much better, no?!
With something like fixed length recording you could even start to use it a bit like a looper.

Fact is that Abletons Looper is a very limited device, that is not as open to workarounds, as Live normally is.

Use session view clips for premade loops.

Use Looper for live looping/recording.
