Sure, the Plugin can be loaded if it's available, but when you do load it manually, it adopts the default instrument/setting preset, not the one that was saved with the project!
VST BlahBlah; The VST Plug-in could not be found
VST BlahBlah; The VST Plug-in could not be found
This message continues to meake me tear out my hair! Please add a dialog to search for the missing Plug-in as it's often there but not picked up by Live! This is especially true of projects loaded from 3rd parties who have their Plug-ins in a different location to me.

Well, it's easy.
Collect all your plugins in one folder and point Ableton Live to that place for looking.

Be aware if you use Live cross platform between MAC and PC, because win doesn't find your used Audio Units (AU) plugins.
Re: VST BlahBlah; The VST Plug-in could not be found
Hi AAdel,
I have all my plug-ins in one location. I have Ableton Live pointing to that location. I repeat, on loading many third party projects, some plug-ins are not found, even though they exist in my one location! Hence my feature request for a missing plug-in search dialog.

It can be useful.
You should ask this in the features wishlist.

This request doesn't make sense technically for me. There are two possible main folders for VST plug-ins that you can use. Not unlimited.J4ckFl45h wrote:Hi AAdel,

If these plug-ins of yours can't be found it's more likely because they are not exactly the same plug-ins. So searching for them won't find them. It could be a number of differences.
Another alternative is that one of you have VSTs sorted in sub-folders while the other of you doesn't or uses a different folder structure.
Make some music!
