Display and pads barely light up after firmware update

After the automatic update that happened recently, the display is barely readable and the pads are very weakly lit.

In setup, the display light stops getting brighter at about 40% while LED brightness setting has no effect whatsoever.

Also "Swing amount" randomly pops up and changes value.

Anyone experience this?
