Center pan to separate output

I'm sound designing a play and using 3 outputs to speakers; left, center (which is above the stage) and right.

I want to pan some footsteps sfx from left to right via the center speaker, so that it sounds as if someone is walking over the top of the stage, Is it possible to do this using the pan knob?

nope, you can't do it with the pan knob. essentially you need a kind of surround panner. there are a number of Max4Live surround panners available, maybe you could modify one of those?
