How to send MIDI messages for program change from a macro?
Hi,
I have an external synth module (an old Akai SG01v).
Problem is - it is on the other side of the room, so I have to get up and change programs using the interface on the module (Which is rubbish).
I know you can send a program change and so on from within a clip by using the bank select etc.
But, can I just do this from my Push 2 using a macro or similar? Select MIDI channel and Program # ? This way I could easily use it as a mutlitimbral box too.
Any help appreciated!

The PXT (or PXT Plus not entirely sure atm) script by nativeKontrol let's you control MIDI (CC and PC) from Pushs encoders. (Don't know about MIDI channel though)
They are great scripts overall, so absolutely worth their price even beyond this capability.
Though that was with Push 1 before Live 9.5. Better make sure those things still apply nowadays.
Another option would be Macrobat racks (specifically the "nK Midi" rack), which come as part of (the free) clyphX utility script. (also by nativeKontrol)

That's great thanks.
I suppose what would be perfect would be if I could add the names of the presets too for each program - and then just choose them (almost like using a VSTi).
