A note about the apparently silly name of the project: it's a tribute to the short lived Repubblica libera della Carnia, a partisan republic formed in 1944 in North-East Italy, during the German occupation. Despite its short life (and poor documentation available to the public), it's a revered and important part of Italian late modern history.
