Ableton Live should have more "Live Set" features

You should let the midi signal "Thru" plug-ins, which should be a normal feature. Ableton Live doesn't have it, it is actually a bug level missing. You force players to build groups with empty midi channels to send midi signals to effects just for the same program change.

You should integrate a program change system in Ableton instruments and effects. Live set means many songs with the same channels, it needs the opportunity to change presets. I don't care about "new trends": program change give more opportunities compared with the mere "loop recording". You can change internal filters instead of the post recording filter. You can have different macro controls depending from pattern. You can change setting of the sounds because you have all the presets. You can have longer live-sets.
Making a metaphor: if some noob can't drive a Ferrari but they still want to drive it, the brand can build some with auto-gear, it doesn't mean manual gear must be removed from every Ferrari.

There is a third feature that could be very useful (but only if the previous two are incorporated). You should bake difference between "micro/pattern" and "macro/groovebox" composition. With the micro you can arrange some songs with same amount of channels, same structure, different timbres, different sequences AND save them as separates parts of the same project. Than in macro mode load several projects and play them together, without break/stop the music to change track, having the opportunity to change some parameters.

Most of the features I am suggesting were already available 20 years ago with grooveboxes, midi sequencers and midi synths.
Ableton Live is a nice instrument to do single projects as well. But for single projects there are even better DAWs. Ableton Live is supposed to be the non plus ultra about Live Set, it can miss some 20 years old features, it should have more.

I think this is very true, on those levels Live is not such a convenient tool to use in a live environment.
Integrating Program Change within a rack for example, and having the Macros following would be lovely.
