Is there anyone out there who uses a Novation X-Station?
If so, what do you think? Can it accomodate a guitar signal plugged in without the need for a DI box?
Thanks

This is a sort of double post, so my apologies, but to answer my own question:
The shop where I buy my music gear has kindly lent me a Novation X-Station 25 key version for a couple of days to test, and let me tell you that it's a great unit!!! The onboard synth sounds great!! Plus I wanted the ability to plug my guitar in as that is an important feature for me. I wasn't sure it was up to the job, but let me tell you it is. The latency is extremely good!!! At first there seemed to be a few minor clicks and pops on occassions, but I updated the drivers and now it is not an issue.
I was either going to buy the X-Station or the new Emu 1616m. I have decided on the Novation because it is a far more portable solution. A keyboard controller and soundcard in one. If I bought the Emu 1616m I would still need to buy a keyboard controller.
I don't need many ins and outs. I have a desktop setup with 3 Pulsar cards for that. For a portable laptop music setup, the Novation for me is more than adequate!!!!
