Hi,
I had to get a new HDD for my operating system and program files, so I now have to re-install Ableton. I keep most of my data on a separate drive, So I'll need to link it up to my user library, factory packs, and projects. I want to avoid making a dogs dinner of this so I've got a couple of questions before I crack on with it.
- Will ableton give me the option to link up to these files during the install - or can it easily be done after the install? I'm trying to avoid downloading and reinstalling everything...
- I was sure the Live Suite core library was also on the other disc but I can't find it (so I'm guessing it was on the same disc as the Ableton program files), so I just want to double check in case I'm searching for the wrong thing. What filename(s) / folder name should I search for to finder this?
Any help greatly appreciated.
Cheers

Ableton reinstall - linking to factory packs on ext drive
Re: Ableton reinstall - linking to factory packs on ext drive
This, plain and simple. Just do the basic installation and choose your Packs and User Library destinations in the Library preferences tab at first run.c_fol wrote:or can it easily be done after the install?
Don't go searching for the core library for backing it up, it's part of the Live installer and lands in its destination folder anyway.c_fol wrote:I was sure the Live Suite core library was also on the other disc but I can't find it (so I'm guessing it was on the same disc as the Ableton program files)
