Sudden unwanted key change in drum rack
Sudden unwanted key change in drum rack
I did search first to see if I could find an answer btw.
This problems just started happening out of the blue so hopefully its something as simple as Ive accidentally changed a parameter somewhere and this has become a default.
Whats happening is that if I record some audio on a track and then drag it into a drum rack pad (with something like one of the beat tool kits set up) it works absolutely fine for the first few minutes and then without warning it'll suddenly jump up a couple of semi tones. Theres no indication looking at the info for the sample as transpose and key are still as they were but its now happening every time and I've spent ages trying to figure it out without any joy. Anyone had similar problems or know how to fix this?
Thanks, James

Re: Sudden unwanted key change in drum rack
You mention Beat Tools, are you playing a midi clip from that pack with your own samples?
That may contain Transpose Modulation:
Tone change for one sample in drum rack

Thanks for the reply chrk.
Ive checked everywhere within the pack and cant find anything pointing towards frequency modulation. Its not just this though:-I'd also downloaded a soundpack from the soundpack pro site called Kloosless which used to work ok but for some reason this has also changed key by three semitones so the singing sample in one of the pads sounds like a chipmunk. Really odd problem which has only just started a week ago.

Re: Sudden unwanted key change in drum rack
Most likely something sending pitchbend to your kit to cause that.
It could be a random connected controller. Or automation that didn't reset the pitch bend to zero.
If you make a clip with an automation node that's set to zero it should set the kit to default pitch.

Re: Sudden unwanted key change in drum rack
I normally have the Push 2 controller connected to it:-is there a way the push 2 could be accidentally causing it and a way to reset?
Thanks in advance

Re: Sudden unwanted key change in drum rack
Try opening the set with no midi controllers connected and play a clip with pitchbend automation where you add automation nodes that set the pitchbend to zero.
I don't even know if that's the true culprit yet. The first step is to see if pitchbend automation will help fix or reset the pitch if your kit.
