Push 2 fixed length and Live Loop length
When I create a new (MIDI) clip and then select fixed length on Push 2 and select the loop length on Push ( did not start playing notes yet) the loop length in Live itself does not change. Why is that ?

Is it because you need to set the fixed length before creating a clip and not after?

The loop length of the clip? If all you do is to "select the loop length on Push" then why would anything change? I assume you mean that you also turn the encoder? If you turn off "Fixed length" this changes the clip length.Muzakmaker wrote:When I create a new (MIDI) clip and then select fixed length on Push 2 and select the loop length on Push ( did not start playing notes yet) the loop length in Live itself does not change. Re: Push 2 fixed length and Live Loop length
Thanks for the comments. Initially and intuitively I assumed the following would work
1. Create new MIDI track
2. Select the note layout (not the sequencer layout)
3. Select the Fixed length (fixed length pad is blinking)
4. Press Record
5. Notes will be recored in the selected number of bars of the selected clip
However, this results in recording indefinitely, so apparently intuition and reality differ
Fixed length (w/o step 5) does work when using a step sequencer layout (and it start when pressing the first note).
The length value changes as well in Ableton live but only initially at creating the clip and not afterwards.
(at this point it can only be changed in the step sequencer)
BTW Just found another conversation about fixed length here. (albeit w/o a clear conclusion)

Apologies for the the duplication.
