Basically I want the "track control" to essentially be a channel strip for full control of the currently selected track. So instead of pan and sends, I want the "pan" button to enable 8 rotary knobs of control of an EQ for the currently selected track, and the "Sends 1" section would instead highlight the compressor on the currently selected track so I can have full control that tracks compressor settings etc etc. I know the "device control" is essentially suppose to work like this but I don't ever want to ever browse between devices in the channels devices. I just want instant access to that channels devices by hitting a button..
So when I have track 1 selected hit "send 1" and then knob 1, I am ALWAYS controlling say, the threshold of the the compressor on track 1, no matter what is going on. I would have identical setups across all channels so the knobs would be identical for every channel
Where I find this difficult, is that the knobs midi control would depend on the currently selected track, so I couldn't do traditional midi mapping, because the mapping would dynamically adjust depending on what track is selected. Sure I could set this exact control up for one channel, but then the entire midi mapping would need to change if Track 2 was selected and so on...
This type of control would rock my world, is their a way to do this ? I've taken some rough searching on the interwebs but I can't figure out if its possible. This is essentially my answer to softube's console 1.... with this method I can use live's native plug-ins instead of having to buy softube's shit, and also I get independant faders and mute/solo/arm/select buttons for all 8 tracks... or 16...... which leads me to my next question....
...I certainly want to add an apc20 alongside the apc40 (which I already own) for control of 16 channels total, can this setup somehow be achieved so that whatever track is selected on the apc20 also gets the channel strip control from the apc40 ? I know by default the apc40's pan/send1/send2/send3 will NOT control the addition 8 tracks on the apc20, but I feel like the level of modification to make this possible (ie. dynamic midi control of the selected track) once achieved, would have no issue controlling the selected track in apc20, because its ultimately gonna come down to just the apc40 controlling whatever the selected track is in ableton, and the apc20 would just choose the selected track in ableton.
Any help would be greatly appreciated, I'm drooling thinking about having this setup right. If there is any other questions about clarification of what I'm trying to explain please let me know, thank you !!
