How to record new midi clip in occupied cell

Post by Max Oepen » Tue May 01, 2018 8:43 am

I'm using a MIDI clip to record automation loops of device parameters on the fly.
Looking for a way to start recording a new MIDI clip in place of the existing one (triggered via controller). Would need to be able to do this repeatedly.

Considered ClyphX. The ClyphX action "CLIP DEL" will also remove Live's MIDI or keyboard mappings from the affected cell, which could otherwise be used to launch the new recording after deletion.

Any other ways to accomplish this?

Made a false statement in my post. "CLIP DEL" does not remove key/MIDI mappings from the affected slot.
Anyways, I still cannot figure out how to execute remote deletion and re-recording of a clip in the same slot (using a controller other than a Push).
Any ideas?
