What the F$*K IS DEMO MODE!!????
I am 3 hours into this project, try to save, nope. Demo mode. Cant turn it off.. Thanks to Operator demo I have lost an entire project.
I tried turning it off but it still will not let me save. This is pretty weak in my opinion.
Anyone know what to do?

Sucks big time. I've had lame issues with Ableton crapping out over registration (at really REALLY bad times). Seems if you have an older version or change something on your computer, it'll lock you out and you have to download the newer one or get more unlock codes. Really convenient (not)... Lucky Abes are pretty quick with the emails...
One thing you forgot to do is SAVE your track every time you make any significant changes. If you had saved it every 10-20 minutes, you wouldn't have lost those 3 hours. You should know this as a pro

Not trying to be a dick, but you wouldn't have this problem if you were keeping up w/ the updates.fondue wrote:Also,
I get paid $30 an hour for my work
That equals $90 which I feel that Ableton now owes me..
Ill shut up for a free copy of operator
Ill just write every little setting down and try to recreate...
AFTER I update. There really should be a built in update checker, like mac OSX
Thats sort of not the point. when you buy something you expect it to work without relying on "updates". He should have saved his work earlier on, its only common sense. AND ABLETON SHOULDN'T HAVE A CRAPPY DEMO MODE TO FUCK THINGS UP FOR PEOPLE THAT DON'T SAVEtreysmith wrote:Not trying to be a dick, but you wouldn't have this problem if you were keeping up w/ the updates.fondue wrote:Also,

Hi folks,
just to clarify... when you have not unlocked the Operator instrument and add the Operator into a Live you will prompted with a message box saying that when you continues it will going into demo mode not allowing longer to save this document. This message box has "no" as default button to avoid that you click on "Ok" by mistake. But also if you remove the Operator the document will stay in demo mode.
If you want to avoid this just go to the product section within Live's preferences dialog and set the Operator to "hidden". This will remove the Operator from the browser and you can simply not add it to a Live set.
regards,
Alex

How you make $30.00 an hour when you don't save regularly and/or can't read the big DEMO MODE prompt is well beyond me. Maybe it is easier than everyone say's to make a living off music.
Not to be a dick, but you're being a dick.

Satan challenges Jesus to a battle of computer skills.
Jesus say's, what the hell. sure. St. Pete will be the judge.
So they are going at it, trying to see who can modify 10,000 excell spread sheets the fastest, whatever.
Just as satan is sure he won the battle the power goes out. Satan cursin like a devil starts over from the beginning.
About a minute later Jesus say's - finished!
Completely flaberghasted, satan say's no way! he turns to St. Pete and say's he must of cheated! how in the hell did he do it!!!
St. Pete say's to him "Jesus Saves"
bwa ha ha ha!!!!
smutek: I had NO IDEA where you were going with that, but: *applause*
fondue: Sorry you lost the work, but you've got to admit Saint Peter had a good point there. If it's any consolation, consider that the harder a lesson hits, the more effectively it strikes home. I hope you don't learn as many lessons the hard way as I had to. (I'm pretty dumb, and have the dents to prove it.)
